This year, GCC planned to send a team of people to start a new church in Los Angeles. I built a responsive website for the new church and consulted with the core team regarding social media strategy.
A church plant happens in stages: the initial building of a core team of people and finances; the move, initial meetings, and beginning growth; and hopefully culminates in regular worship services.
To best facilitate those first two stages, I created a website that centered around a blog that would function as a place for the growing team to share updates. People interested in being a part of the team -- whether by giving financially or going themselves -- could then subscribe and remain engaged.
I trained members of the core team with basic social strategy, and helped them come up with a distinctive voice for the church that would connect with our sending church, GCC, but resonate in LA, where they're planting.
For the announcement, I also designed some print pieces to put in the hands of our members, to keep them connected and point them to the web.
