The Hole in Our Gospel (a really late book review)

“Being a Christian requires much more than just having a personal and transforming relationship with God. It also entails a public and transforming relationship with the world.” Written by Richard Stearns, president of World Vision U.S., The Hole in Our Gospel is a call for Christians to move beyond their private, individual lives and to take their faith out into the world, demonstrating the love of Christ.

I must admit, I wasn’t able to finish the book. Stearns arguments and stories are compelling, but he is longwinded. I think this book would have been even more compelling and inspiring had it been shorter.

While it was long, The Hole in Our Gospel is still a great book. It is filled with hope of what could be possible if believers really did live out their faith publicly, transforming the world around them.

“What if [Christians] embraced this vision of God transforming our world -- through them?”
