Hello lovely friends, I am back on the blog, and with some music to share with you. I have been listening to Audrey Assad's new album, Fortunate Fall, on repeat since it released last Tuesday.
It doesn't vary a lot from song to song, in terms of its instrumentation or style... but that's what makes it work. It's quiet, calm, humble... sacred. I play this from start to finish, and it has helped me to experience and sense God's presence in a real way.
What Audrey says this album is all about:
"No matter how ugly or brutal or seemingly beyond all hope life may present itself to be, one very deep and lovely Truth of Christianity is that Jesus is making, and will make, all things new. He is changing evil into Good. I cling to that, even when I can’t find the strength to believe it, because it is possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever heard."
One of my favorite songs from the album is "Good to Me."
"When I'm bowed down with sorrow I will lift up Your name
and the foxes in the vineyard will not steal my joy"
